Cristiano
Ronaldo is known to be one of the greatest and most recognizable athletes in
the world today, but was he always a footballer? No, he wasn’t, or at least only
he didn’t at one point in his life that truly enabled him to be a soccer
player, but yes he was a football player.
The
historic football player, Cristiano Ronaldo, was a professional footballer in
Portugal from 2001-2012. Ronaldo plays for Juventus and Real Madrid. In 2008,
Ronaldo left Manchester United to join Real Madrid. During that time, Ronaldo
was viewed as one of the most celebrated and successful football players on the
football field.
In
the last 10 years, he has won nine international football titles. However, due
to his retirement from the game, many people think that Ronaldo is no longer
the most successful professional football player on the football field. The
footballers that a lot of people think should have won the prize should have
won the FIFA World Cup already.
Ronaldo,
during his career, has taken the title of the top club and international football
player in Portugal. Portugal is a third-place world soccer league among the 25
highest-ranking football leagues in the world. However, when Ronaldo returned to
the squad of Portugal in 2017 after spending four months in rehabilitation from
the injury, he showed an incredible performance to win a Gold Medal in the 2018
FIFA World Cup in Russia. It shows that Ronaldo will always be the
highest-ranked player in the world football and continues to be a worldwide
reference for excellence in football.
